Empowering Farmers: Climate-Smart Agriculture Training in Battambang

Last week, the Women’s Economic Empowerment and Climate Resilience in the Vegetable Value Chain Project conducted a training session on Climate-Smart Agricultural Practices, Climate Resilience, and Good Agricultural Practice Standards (CamGAP) for vegetable and fruit producers in Samlot district, Battambang province. The training was attended by 25 farmers.

The training aimed to help farmers adapt to climate change, increase agricultural productivity, and reduce carbon emissions in agriculture. Participants gained new knowledge on cultivation techniques that adhere to technical standards, food safety, product quality improvement, and practices that promote the health of both producers and consumers, while also considering environmental sustainability.

Uncle Khieu Nhim, a participating farmer, commented, “Today’s training is crucial for promoting the health of both farmers and consumers. I hope the farmers who attended will share the knowledge they gained with others in our community.”
