Meet Leav Kimna: Championing Agricultural Transformation in Cambodia

Hi Kimna, welcome to Grow Asia – CPSA! Can you share a brief overview of your professional journey leading up to your role with us?

My first three months with Grow Asia – CPSA have flown by. This is my first time taking the role of a country manager position, and I have been receiving such a warm welcome from my new network. I look forward to serving and supporting the CPSA team, Grow Asia, and key partners in growing together.

In my previous roles, I helped farmers gain technical knowledge to grow and scale up from home gardening to commercial farming and encouraged them to engage with local market actors. In this role with CPSA, which focuses on sustainable agriculture and partnering with farmers, I am confident that we can transform the agricultural system through a holistic, partnership-based approach.

What change would you like to see in Cambodia’s agricultural landscapes?

My greatest wish is to see Cambodian farmers produce enough to meet local consumption needs and sustainably export high-value crops to international markets, all while preserving natural resources and improving their families’ livelihoods.

In one sentence, what is your vision for Grow Asia – CPSA?

“Improving farmers’ and their families’ livelihoods through sustainable agricultural business.”

What advice would you give to young professionals aspiring to work in sustainable agriculture?

My advice to young professionals is to engage and motivate their interconnected network, which both influences and is influenced by the activities involved in bringing food from farm to fork and beyond!
